The Kancil Guesthouse is a good place for a stay. Double room is RM36 without breakfast.
It’s a little bit far away from the downtown, but it’s cosy, quite and friendly.
Must eat in Melacca: The Capitol Satay is very good and cheap. What a gorgeous town it is.
Sama-Sama Guesthouse in Melaka is very cheap and very friendly. If you love reggae you will love this place. It is a bit rustic but very clean and full of ambiance. It is my favorite place to stay in Melaka. While you are there, if you like spicy foods, Devil Curry is a must!

On friday, saturday and sunday one road in chinatown (jonker walk) is shut down for vehicales. It’s at 6pm. You will find a very lively night market with stalls selling souvenirs, handycrafts, “antiques”, more useless and some useful stuff, food. At times you can also find some interesting chinese karaoke entertainment
And there is still the unique atmosphere of the old houses…
